Assignment_3c:Water Sport House

Produce a Water Sport House for Datça. Check the appropriate sport list and pick one of the sport. Consider the alternative locations. Develop three alternative proposal for three different locations of your group. Draw plan(s), section(s) and elevation(s) in 1/100 scale. In your proposal, access to your Water Sport House, dimensions and functions should be indicated. Use closed, semi-closed, semi-open, and open spaces.

Assignment_3b: Site Analysis and Site Locations

Datça Excursion

At the Excursion in 27 -28 -29 April of 2019 , we are going to visit Datça Peninsula in order to design and house a place for a particular water sport . During the excursion, you, as an experienced student attempting site analysis, are going to hunt three alternative locations for appropriate places for the water sport facilities . Namely, as a group of 4 - 5 , you will propose at least 12 -15 locations . These particular locations should be analysed and categorised according to the tools that we have used in previous works . Since we have developed a design approach leaning to the Site Analysis tools, you will consider the Peninsula again with those techniques .

Assignment_3a: Considering Water Sports

Water sports have always been the basics of international sporting culture. Besides, starting from basic swimming to dragon boat racing, many water surfaces in nature facilitate and witness the remarkable adventure of human as an individual or within team. Housing these kind of sports needs careful coordination of understanding the character of the sport, of considering the limits of the given activity and of working with the possible dimensions for needed spatial entities. Aegean and Mediterranean Sea, lakes, rivers or any natatorium pave the way to unite water sports and people and it is a chance and potential for our studio to be near to these kind of facilities. My sport is DIVING.

Assignment_2c: SHEETs on Bostanlı Shore

Search a particular location for the inhabitants of Bostanlı and İzmir to enhance the social space. Produce a designed environment with the given SHEET with the appropriate site analysis. Sheet has a thickness of 20-50 cm with a height of 3-5m and 15-20 m long. While enhancing the social space, develop sufficient facilities with the help of SHEET. SHEET should enhance picnic, potlatch and play as basic social practices. Shortly, SHEET is the device to facilitate picnic, potlatch and play. Scale is 1/20 and 1/50. Material is timber. You have to consider the joint details and construction techniques.

Assignment_2b: Site Analyses

This work is going to set a ground for your further design assignment. With this social and physical analysis of the group, you are going to develop a comprehensive approach including natural, built and social environment. Work in groups of 4-5. 50x70 cm is your design field and representation technique is free.

Assignment_2a: Human, Tree and Wall

10-Squared Representation

You have to relate these three components of design to picnic, potlatch and play as basic social practices. These three terms will be our guiding themes during ASS_02. Define 10 (ten) variations using human, tree and wall with picnic, potlatch and play and represent these 10 conditions by using different media 20x20 cm papers. You need to use the models of human, tree and wall within those representations.

Assignment_1c: In-Between or All-Around

Search a particular location for in-between and all-around platform (5-10 m2) for your group. Produce bridge (aB) for experience in-between or tower (aT) for observing all-around to serve your own group members in scale of 1/20. Shortly, your gap for aB has transformed into 15 m and the height of aT have become 15 m. Consider the access to in-between and all-around platforms from ground. Locate your individual aT or aB on a context so that the in-between and all-around fits with the place.

Assignment_1b:Analysing Constructions

In this assignment we should analyse the given bridge and towers with defining the structural logic, design elements, loads, joints and supporting conditions to the ground.
Analyses should also include space, form and dimensions in reference to the human scale, and observations on how design elements, modules and rules in your selected example have been used to create a certain space characteristic.

Assignment_1a: Do not drop the brick!

Second assignment is that we were expected to  build one abstraction of tower and one abstraction of bridge with same group members in assignment 1.
Our design elements (planar elements) were the design elements of grey cardboard with a length of 15 cm max.
Tower has to be 150 cm in height and bridge has to link 150 cm gap in length.
